Reality Gives has many ongoing financial needs, from hiring new teachers to purchasing supplies for our classes.

Merchandise
The tours conducted by Reality Tours and Travel have been the primary source of income for us up to now.

Merchandise sales are an expanding source of income that we hope to develop further in the near future. If you visit our office in Colaba ( near Leopold’s Café) or take part in one of Reality Tour and Travel′s tours, please consider purchasing any of the following

Donations in Kind
Please contact us if you think that you have any items which you think would be useful for our operations. Currently on our wish list we have

- used computers and laptops
- books and dictionaries for library

Otherwise, even if it doesn't affect our operations directly, we can pass on pretty much anything to good causes. For example donated clothing we have given to the poorer communities in Mumbai and in rural Maharasthra.

Often, because of the costs of postage and customs duties, it is not worthwhile to send these items from abroad by post, but for high value items in particular, it might be possible to arrange something.

Monetary Donations
We need additional funding to continue growing and serving more young people in Dharavi. Monetary donations from supporters are crucial to do this. The relatively low cost of rent, supplies and labour in Dharavi means that any contribution you are able to make can have an enormous effect on the lives of residents.

Because of government regulations, there are severe restrictions placed on us accepting monetary donations in India, particuarly from foreigners. One has to wait a few years before obtaining all the permissions.

In 2009 we set up a charity in the UK called Reality Gives to raise money and we are registered with the Charity Commission of England and Wales (reg no:1136529). This money will be used to support our activities in India. NONE of this money will be used to finance any admin costs in the UK. For UK donors, we are in the process of applying for Gift Aid.
